Service charge vs. tip
The service charge is a regulated, invoiced item distributed to staff by defined rules; the tip is the guest's voluntary gift. Taxation, receipting and distribution differ — your system must handle both separately.
The card-tip problem
Card payments need built-in tip support: percentage buttons or free amounts at payment, recorded separately and attributed by staff member — otherwise card tips are simply lost.
